I recently visited the Gold Coast in south east Queensland to see the last Gold Coast Indy car race. As I didn’t want to be involved in the road closures of the trackside accommodation I decided on some great Broadbeach accommodation which was right on the beachfront. It was the first time that I had stayed at Broadbeach and it certainly won’t be the last. The Niecon Plaza area has some of the best shopping on the Gold Coast and the range of alfresco dining and great cafes is fantastic. It all has a fantastic holiday atmosphere. The beach at Broadbeach is identical to Surfers paradise and Main Beach in quality and it is fully patrolled as you would expect. There was a surf carnival on during my stay and we could watch all of the action of the iron man events and the surf boat races right from our own balcony.
If you fancy some fun in the evenings, Jupiters casino is walking distance away as is the new Gold Coast convention center. I have decided that, for me, this is positively the best place on the Gold Coast to stay because it is so conveniently located with out being in the center of the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise and Cavill Avenue. For families holidaying on the Gold Coast, Broadbeach is an ideal choice. Most families want fully self contained apartment style accommodation that is close to the beach and there is heaps of this on offer. You will be able to find something at every budget level.
The Gold Coast has so much tourist infrastructure on offer that is won’t matter what time of the year you come. There is really plenty to see and do. The kids will want to visit the theme parks that are so popular here and shuttle services will offer door to door pick up and delivery services. Dad might want to go on a fishing charter to the continental shelf while mum might go on a whale watching trip or a tour to the Gold Coast hinterland. Whatever you decide on it will be right at your fingertips. Getting to the Gold Coast is the easy part. Both Virgin Blue and Jetstar both have many daily flights arriving at Coolangatta airport from all southern capitals. If you are going to drive then the Pacific Highway passes right through Broadbeach on its way to Brisbane. If you are just starting to plan your next holiday then consider staying in some of the fantastic Broadbeach accommodation that is currently on offer at some very special rates.
