By Plane - The major airports in Kerala are Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. These airports cater to both international and domestic flights. Most international flights that connect to Kerala come from countries such as Singapore, Colombo and Male. You may also get a direct flight from some countries in the Middle East. If you are coming from neighbouring locales such as Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa or Delhi, you will also be able to get a direct flight connecting to these airports.
Once you have landed, you may find yourself slightly disoriented by the crowds at the airport. Just remain calm and keep an eye on all personal belongings. You will find it slightly easier once you have gotten out of the terminal. Most visitors hail a cab to get to their intended destinations. You may also choose to hop onto a bus, although this may involve some inconvenience if you have bulky luggage.
By Train - If you are coming from neighbouring locales like Tamil Nadu or Karnataka, you may also get to Kerala by train. This train service is mainly provided by Indian Railways. There are also slightly longer direct train services from Indian cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. Some of these trains tend to be very crowded and make for very uncomfortable travel experiences. If you do want to travel by train, it is highly recommended that you pay more for a better train service.
By Bus - These are several bus services that you can hop on to get to Kerala from neighbouring locales. Once again, many of the lower-priced bus services tend to be very overcrowded, so paying more for a less crowded and better quality service is a good idea. Be sure to book all tickets in advance as bus travel tends to be quite popular among both locals and foreigners.
